Closing Note
This year’s poets demonstrated extraordinary range — from intimate lyric to political witness, from formal mastery to bold experimentation. We congratulate all twelve honorees and extend our admiration to every student who submitted work.
Their voices remind us why poetry matters, and why it continues to thrive in New York City’s schools.
We ask for all of this years winners to attend our Award Ceremony on May 13th at Jefferson Market Library at 6pm. We also would extend an invitation for our shortlisted winners to join us as well and perform their poems. A collection of the winners and shortlisted poets work will be available at the event, and we look forward to seeing and hearing all of you next week!
Thank you for all of your submissions and we look forward to next years competition!
Cheers,
